I have learned to ride the waves of conflict and disappointment when they arise, to confront situations that required keeping my head above water and not drifting too far from shore.

I only wish that I could look at a dozen more drawings like that and ask myself, “Who was this guy?”

Any seasoned blackberry picker knows that the mature and sweetest berries come off into your hand effortlessly with just the slightest pull. If it resists at all, it will most likely be sour. Leave it for the next picker.
